Karyn Keana’aina

My name is Karyn Keana’āina. I am from the Big Island of Hawai’i and have lived in Southern Utah for eight years. I am Hawaiian-Filipino-Caucasian or as they say in the Hawaii, “hapa.” I have a Bachelors Degree in Business Marketing from the University of Phoenix and an Associates degree in Web Design. I have also had the great opportunity to learn about my heritage from my parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents. Their mana’o or knowledge has been invaluable to me as I try to share my culture with the people around me. I work at Findlay Automotive of Utah as their Social Media Marketer. I also co-DJ a radio show every Friday on local radio station KTIM 95.3 called Island Fever. The show has been on for over two years, and it is a great way to share a little “Aloha” with our community. I am passionate about education and believe that it can truly change your life for the better. I am excited to be a part of the Southern Utah Pacific Islander Coalition and am looking forward to helping our community meet their abundant potential through education and healthy living.
